Fabián Ramos

Fabián Ramos, Argentina 1968.

Studied Architecture and Plastic Arts at the National University of Tucumán. Lives and works in Madrid.

Fabián Ramos makes photographs, objects, sculptures and films. Through a procedure he calls cinema with objects, he tests gesture and theatricality in the forms, and proposes cinematographic qualities in them, establishing links between photography, sculpture, architecture and cinema.

His work explores cinema before cinema, that is, cinematic forms prior to the invention of the device, in the landscape, in architectural objects and furniture, in the experience of architecture and space: the great cathedrals, stadiums, passageways, atriums, peristyles, trees and mists.

The moment when objects become images.

And from there, the different cultural perspectives on the nature of objects, especially artistic objects.

He presents films in the form of installations, sculptures to be filmed, photographs and compositions of site-specific pieces; such as architectural settings, natural spaces, or art exhibition spaces.
