Isabel Alonso Vega
Madrid, 1968.
She graduated in Fine Arts at the Complutense University. She currently lives and works in Madrid.
Isabel Alonso Vega's research focuses on the attempt to give form to the intangible. Painting on different layers of acrylic, the artist creates sculptures of abstract figures, mainly in smoke. As if they were silent clouds in continuous transformation, the sculptures seem to levitate in a space created only by light. The artist's work attempts to subvert the relationship between form and content: giving form to disembodied objects, she uses paint as if she were sculpting stone.
